Our Wexford showroom sits on Perry Highway, which makes this the area we work in most often and know best. It is also the part of the North Hills where the housing stock most rewards what we do.
Much of Wexford’s newer construction was designed around its glass — two-storey great rooms, walls of sliders onto rear terraces, and window walls that are wonderful in principle and unmanageable by hand.
What we see in Wexford
Those double-height great rooms are the single most common reason people call us. The upper band of glass is unreachable, so it never gets covered, and the room runs hot in the afternoon and feels exposed after dark. Motorized shades on the upper openings solve a problem that has usually been tolerated for years.
West-facing rear elevations are common through the newer developments here, which means hard low sun from late afternoon onward. A 1% or 3% solar screen is usually the right specification — enough to cut the glare without giving up the outlook.
Rear terraces and pool surrounds are where the outdoor work concentrates, usually motorized zip screens between the columns of a covered porch to make it usable across more of the year.
